An E-xquisite Gem for You!

Twelve bottles of our artisan 2009 Mario Bazán Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a dream come true for any cabernet lover, specially for the one who loves to discover artisan hidden gems.
Our 2009 vintage follows in the footsteps of the highly regarded and critically acclaimed vintages of 2005 through 2008 with its trademark sensual mouthfeel and intricate balance extracted from Mario’s impeccably farmed fruit. Medium ruby in color, the nose shows bright red cherry with accents of black berries and spice displaying great clarity. The palate exhibits power and grace complemented by a rich mouthfeel and minerality together with complex red berries and black fruit flavors. The multi-layered finish is accented by fine grain tannins and spicy fruit carried on from the nose and palate leaving you yearning for another glass. This is a fine example of Cabernet Sauvignon from a cooler area of Napa Valley showing innate balance and structure along with superb varietal character.

Napa Valley’s long warm (not hot) growing season in 2009 was a dream come true and only threatened in some areas by October rains. We decided to pick before the rains at optimal ripeness to produce a wine of elegance combined with the classic power of the vintage. Only 205 cases were produced.
